Glaston focuses on enhancing employee cybersecurity awareness.
Background
The collaboration between Glaston and Secure Cloud began in 2019 when Glaston acquired Bystronic glass, a German-Swiss company. The diverse IT environments and more than doubled workforce required a new approach to identity and access management. The collaboration began with IAM services and continued with cybersecurity awareness training in the summer of 2023.
Objectives
The primary goal of the collaboration was to increase the cybersecurity awareness of Glaston’s approximately 800 employees. As a global company, Glaston needed a training platform that could accommodate different languages and cultures.
Glaston had several different systems in place, making management and reporting challenging. The training required significant resources and manual effort. The aim was to find a centralized platform for automated cybersecurity training and phishing simulations in multiple languages. The training material needed to be high-quality, comprehensive, and cater to different levels of cybersecurity expertise.

Solution
Glaston and Secure Cloud developed a training plan and informed the staff. Since people are a critical part of a company’s defense line, it was essential to get employees committed to the training and help them understand its importance for cybersecurity.
Secure Cloud proposed a training package, which was further refined based on Glaston’s input. Basic training was then launched on the selected topics. Secure Cloud monitored the effectiveness of the training and reported the results to Glaston. The plan was adjusted based on these findings and emerging global threats.
The chosen technology was Proofpoint’s SaaS-based security training platform, which offers a variety of self-paced training modules. Secure Cloud develops and maintains the solution, saving Glaston time on training implementation.

Results
Glaston has achieved a unified view and easily distributable training and campaigns for its entire staff. Personnel costs have been reduced thanks to automation and the service provided. Additionally, reporting to management and measuring the service’s effectiveness have improved.

Secure Cloud assessed the current state of employee cybersecurity awareness with a survey, which led to the launch of the first phishing campaign. The messages were tailored to fit the company’s style and included commonly used phishing tactics.
Phishing campaigns help test employee skills easily, and phishing emails can be reported directly through a button in the email client, as the solution integrates with MS365 Outlook. With increased awareness, several phishing attempts outside the campaign have also been detected.
The platform’s advantages include the ability to automatically assign different levels of training to different groups and track their progress. The level of cybersecurity has significantly improved at Glaston, minimizing financial and reputational risks.

Glaston has found that the service has significantly enhanced the cybersecurity skills of its employees. With Secure Cloud’s advisory services, planning, implementing, and developing training has been effortless and cost-effective.

As experience has grown, so has the desire to use the platform for other types of internal training beyond cybersecurity. Proofpoint’s solution makes it possible to conduct various internal trainings on the platform.
